Part 2 & 3 Flesh and blood
Part 2- Human Silhouettes: this series of pieces challenge hetero normative ideologies of gender, the silhouettes created in Porcelain with its striking contrasts explain that inside we are all made of the same thing. Part 3- Gender Bending: This latest series challenges the preconceived conceptions of gender in the way that it bends gender, it portrays gender in the many different variants. It also continues to pull on the contrasts from Part 2.
Part 1. Flesh and Blood:
First of a three part series, challenging the social norms of gender and the stereotypical views of Masculinity and Femininity, in a our patriarchal society. Part one deals with the issues centered around Gender Identity Disorder.
This series is inspired by the effect of the extreme heat the clay is exposed to during the firing process.
Foundation's in history
This collection aspires to show the value of our roots, the value of our history, that we as a society are neglecting.
Weathering and erosion
A series of vases, centered on archaeological find found throughout Britain, this led me to look at the effect of weathering and erosion on the landscape, as the collection grew it focused in on floral forms.
The Heart, is an accumulation of sources from the birth of science and biology, to the metaphorical connections that have been applied through-out history.
Landscapes In Porcelain
This one off unique piece, is an abstract portrayal of the earth and the sea.
Textures in Clay
Touchy? Textures in clay are a narrative intertwined with the sense of touch…. These individual pieces draw in the viewer and begs to be held…yet as individual as they are, they are a narrative of three.
Peacock blue are inspired by the Ancient Egyptians and their use of Egyptian paste.
